"The Birthrite Series" began under the working title "Through Time" and then the second working title was "Bloodlines." It was originally going to be a short story featured in the writing section of my new website, but as it often happens, the story began to take on a life of it's own and it ended up being much longer than a short. I posted the first draft of Book 1 on my blog as an experiment of sorts, and it slowly gained a regular readership. I've also posted samples of subsequent drafts. There is alot to the story, hence why it has been extended to a series.

 

The Birthrite Series is a Gothic Romantic story that can also fit into the Horror, Suspense, and Fantasy genres.

 

Some of the story takes place in existing parts of the world, but much of it occurs in three fictional towns I've created: Stone Creek, PA (US)Pinewoods, PA (US)Plains, NY (US).

Stone Creek and Pinewoods are located in Northeastern Pennsylvania area near Wilkes-Barre/Scranton/Hazelton area within the Appalachian Mountains. The town of Mountaintop, PA(where I grew up) was the inspiration behind Stone Creek, and Pinewoods is inspired by Clark's Summit. Greensburg, PA (near Pittsburgh) was the inspiration behind Plains, NY. The Alexanderescu Castle mentioned in the first couple chapters that is near Transylvania in Romania is also fictional and a product of my own twisted little imagination (the Castle, not Transylvania. Transylvania is very real and very awesome).

 

The Birthrite series begins with the book "Descent" which is set for release in June of 2014.
